What Makes Family Relationships Happy and Healthy?

Most of our time is spent working, studying, shopping, cleaning, cooking or getting the kids to and from school or day care. So we might end up forgetting about our priorities towards our families and to make time for things that promote family strong relations with our family and relatives.
People in our families are the most important to us and closest to us. The family house is the place where we spend most of our time working with parents and siblings, sharing happy and sad moments and solving problems and conflicts.

Healthy and happy families tend tend to:

1- Make time for talking and listening: prioritize some time to spend with the family to discuss things that affect the whole family and be part of the decisions taken.

2- Show encouragement, affection and appreciation: show interest and care in each others lives and ask what each family member has done each day.

3- Accept differences in each member: respect the difference in personalities and interests among each family member and value uniqueness and individuality.

4- Share chores and power: Be ready to give help for the youngest member and for the eldest member,

5- Keep in touch with friends and relatives: be social and welcome friends and relatives at your home, because they bring joy and fun to your lives and most likely when you are not isolated from others less problems you will have in your family.

6- Have commitment: show loyalty and honesty to everyone in the family.

7- Preserve family rituals and traditions: try to keep and preserve your sense of belonging and your identity in order to stay in a state of safety and security.

It is important to have a good relationship among the family members with all the difficulties each face. The husband and wife should set rules to their relation the should follow, they should respect each other, accept the differences between each other. They are the base of the family. Their children imitate them; if the have good relationship build of love and respect, listening to each other their children automatically will be the same. These tips are very helpful and any family should follow them before problems occur.

It's the age of social media where we can see family members communicating through face book and whats app even when sitting in the same room. Keep in mind that life is short, it can't move backward. Spend quality time with your family before you start loosing them one after the other!!!!

No family is perfect. We argue, we fight, and some times we stop talking to each other. But at the end the family represents love, care, and support.

Family means that no matter what you're in it together, and till the end. It means that no matter how many times you may argue with your parents, sisters, or brothers, deep down you still have that unconditional love for them and if any one tries to step on any of them, you'll be the first to stand up and defend them.

I would consider this one of the most interesting topics to talk about. I really enjoyed reading your post. This is certainly a great topic to draw the attention to because nowadays many people are forgetting the importance and the true meaning of a family.
